Textiles are in my blood. I grew up surrounded by shops and stalls selling exotic fabrics from India, Middle East and Pakistan. I collected them from my beginnings as a fashion student spending money earned from part-time jobs. My studio is treasure house stocked with Persian fabric swatches, Indian fabrics, wall hangings, cushions and curtains, ceramics and cloth bought from bazaars, souks, market stalls, travels and local area. I intend for plying my colours like a weaver or saturating the paper in pigment like a dye merchant confused means with ends.
